Silverstone has been confirmed as the venue for the British MotoGP race at least until 2020. The Circuit of Wales proposition has been terminated due to the many delays with the project. Donington Park was in the running to host the event as well, but the birthplace of motorsport won out.
The race at Silverstone will be held over August 24-26 in 2018, and the circuit is trying to make the race weekend more friendly for fans. The reintroduction of a rule that lets children under 11 years old in for free is one of the measures. The British GP never fails to surprise, and even this past season it handed us the first dominant laps from Valentino Rossi, the first blown engine in a race for Honda's MotoGP program in a decade, and race winner Dovizioso ended up being the challenger for the title up to the final race in Valencia.
