Kevin Ash, the motorcycling correspondent from the Telegraph died during a motorcycle event in South Africa. Kevin was riding with a group of international journalist during an event organised by BMW in South Africa.
Kevin was testing the BMW’s 2013 R1200GS motorcycle at an off-road patch, which was around 250kms east of Cape Town. When the accident took place, Kevin was testing the enduro mode of the R12000GS.
BMW release an official statement which mentioned “It is with deep regret that BMW Motorrad confirms the fatal injury of Kevin Ash in a motorcycle accident during a launch event in South Africa. The accident happened to the north of a town called George, 250 kms east of Cape Town. Out of respect for Kevin's family and friends, no further information is being made available at this time.”
