MV Agusta is currently in the process of developing three new motorcycles that will make a global debut in 2016. All the three motorcycles will be powered by a 1,000cc engine.
This development was confirmed by Giovanni Castiglioni, CEO, MV Agusta, a few days ago at a motorcycling event in Italy. While he didn’t disclose the exact information of these upcoming motorcycles, we believe one of them will be the successor to the legendary F4 superbike. Along with this, the Italian manufacturer will launch a naked model, using the same F4 successor platform and a tourer/adventure.
It’s the latest trend to develop more than one motorcycle using a single platform. This not only helps the companies keep costs in check but also help them build products that will cater to a wider audience. BMW recently adopted this approach, so has MV Agusta.
MV Agusta motorcycles are known to be in the super-premium category and out of the reach for a large audience. With these upcoming launches, we don’t see the company differing from its strategy of selling bikes at a higher cost. Let’s wait and watch what happens at the 2015 EICMA event in Italy. We are expecting the company to get these three new bikes whenever it enters the Indian market.
