At first glance, the unclear image looked to be a rendering of the next generation Kawasaki ER-6n. It appeared as if Kawasaki has given the naked 650 the ‘Z’ treatment. However, upon further inspection it appears as if this could be one of the future supercharged Kawis.
Visually, as we said before, ‘Z treatment’, which means the motorcycle features a mix of alien and transformer styling. The Z1000 appears to be the motorcycle where Kawasaki took the most inspiration from. The low positioned wasp like headlight cluster along with a beefier tank to make for smoother flowing lines. The rear end also appears to be restyled to give it a slightly more aggressive stance.
Mechanically, now this is where things get interesting, the motorcycle appears to have huge vents on the side of the bike. And these vents could be the source to all the air the supercharger would need. The motorcycle appears to have a slightly redesigned clutch cover. Other than that most of it is identical to the ER-6n. The swing arm, rear-shock and exhaust system all appears to be straight off the ER-6n as well. The perimeter-style frame appears to have been reworked which is likely to accommodate the all new supercharger.
Now here comes the odd bit, the image also states that the motorcycle is a Z800 SC. Which could either mean that Kawasaki have bored out the 650cc engine to 800cc and supercharged it, or that name could be for a completely different one altogether. There’s not much we can do but wait at the moment as good things are headed our way from Kawasaki.
