- Optional accessories include bar-end mirrors and auxiliary lights
- Gets upside-down front forks, twin rear shocks, and disc brakes
- India launch likely by early 2023
A test mule of the upcoming Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 was spotted in India during its pre-production test runs. The motorcycle did not use any camouflaging stickers or covers and appeared to be nearly production-ready. This particular test mule was also equipped with optional accessories such as bar-end mirrors, an engine crash guard, and auxiliary lights.
Apart from the optional accessories, the new spy images give a clear look at the design of the motorcycle which comprises a round headlight, round turn indicators, twin-pod instrument cluster, split-style seats, twin-sided exhaust canisters, and stylish alloy wheels. The images also showcase the hardware on this upcoming motorcycle that comprises upside-down front forks, twin rear shocks, and single disc brakes on both wheels.
The details about the feature list are limited but the spy photograph confirms that the upcoming Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 will get an LED headlight. Plus, the instrument cluster should benefit from the company’s Tripper Navigation system as standard.
The mechanical specifications are likely to remain to the Interceptor INT 650 and the Continental GT 650. Thus, this upcoming motorcycle, too, should use a parallel-twin 650cc air/oil-cooled motor. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, this motor produces 47bhp and 52Nm on the existing 650 twins. While the launch details are not available yet, Royal Enfield should introduce the Shotgun 650 in India by the end of this year or early 2023.
