A new litre-class Triumph classic motorcycle has been spotted undergoing trials in the UK. The test mule sported the same old-school styling as the 865cc Bonneville, fuelling rumours that the British manufacturer is planning to go upmarket with this new bigger classic motorcycle.
The new Bonneville will be powered by a 1,100cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine. This engine is expected to make around 90bhp, which is 22bhp more than what the Bonneville produces through its 865cc air-cooled parallel-twin unit.
Last year, two Triumph café racer motorcycles featuring similar architecture and powerplant were spotted testing in Spain. Featuring a Thruxton-like styling, the two test mules sported different suspension setups, which indicates that these models will be sold in a standard and a sportier ‘R’ trim. We can expect these motorcycles to make their maiden public appearance at the EICMA Show in Milan, later this year as 2016 models.
