Suzuki launched the new Gixxer in India recently. The motorcycle gets a few noteworthy upgrades that differentiate it from the older model. So, here we list down five unique features of the new Suzuki Gixxer.
An all-new design
The new Gixxer looks like a modern and evolved version of the now older model. It gets a sleeker and flatter headlamp that illuminates to road using LED bulbs. The tail lamp for that matter also gets LED-lighting. The Gixxer’s fuel-tank design continues to evoke a streetfighter appeal with the bold shoulder lines and sharp tank shrouds.
If the street fighter looks somewhat familiar, it is because the entire mid to rear section has been picked up from the fully-faired Gixxer SF. It gets a split-seat setup with split grab rail on a sharp tail section. The Gixxer also gets the same unique-looking exhaust canister.
New instrument console
The Gixxer sports a new LCD display which is 13mm slimmer than the unit on its predecessor. The new display has a redesigned and more uniform-looking layout wherein the gear position indicator is on the left and the shift light is on the top of the display. Moreover, the new Gixxer’s display is white-backlit unlike the previous model’s orange display unit.
Updated engine
Well, the new Gixxer continues to be powered by a 155cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. However, the unit is now fuel-injected. It produces 14bhp of power and 14Nm of torque and comes mated to a five-speed transmission.
Offered in three colour options
Suzuki is offering the new Gixxer in three dual-tone colour options. You can have the bike in a silver with black colour or a blue with black colour scheme. The bike is also offered in a completely black theme. All three colours also sport red rim tape on both wheels that add to its appeal.
Pricing
The new Gixxer has been prices at Rs 1,00,212 which is an increase of around Rs 12,000 over the previous version that is priced at Rs 88,941. For the additional money that you pay, the new Gixxer offers a whole new appeal, LED lighting, better instrument cluster and a fuel-injected motor.
