Kawasaki has revealed that it will be launching the new Z900 in India soon; sometime early in January 2020. With only a couple of weeks before it is introduced in the country, we tell you what to expect from new Kawasaki Z900.
Styling tweaks
Kawasaki has retained the silhouette of the current Z900 although with subtle, yet noticeable styling tweaks that makes it look sharper. The motorcycle gets a redesigned headlamp with full-LED lighting. It also gets more aggressively styled tank shrouds and a sharper rear section.
Updated electronics package
Now, the motorcycle sports a completely new electronics package that the outgoing model needed dearly. To begin with, there is a 4.3-inch full-colour TFT, Bluetooth-enabled display that can be connected to the rider’s smartphone via the Kawasaki Rideology application. The new Z900 also boasts of a three-mode traction control system which modulate power output.
Euro 5 compliant engine
Powering the new Z900 is a Euro5/BS6 compliant version of the 948cc, inline-four cylinder motor that does duty on the current model. This motor churns out 123bhp of power and 98.6Nm of torque and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox.
New colours
The 2020 Kawasaki Z900 will be available in two colour options in India. There is a black colour with red highlights and a grey paint scheme with lime green accents.
Pricing
Kawasaki has revealed that the 2020 Z900 will be priced somewhere between Rs 8.5 lakhs and Rs 9 lakhs. Considering the lower amount, the motorcycle will cost a premium of nearly Rs 90,000 to Rs 1 lakh over the current model.
