- KTM 790 BS6 to be launched in April
- To get new paint schemes
- Could retain the same mechanicals and cycle parts
KTM has announced that it would be launching the new 2020 790 Duke BS6 in India in April 2020.
The motorcycle would inevitably come powered by a BS6-compliant version of the 799cc, parallel-twin engine. While the current model produces 105bhp and 86Nm, we expect the BS6 version to remain the same. However, the new 790 Duke will be offered in new colour schemes- a grey and black combination with orange highlights and a revised orange and black colour.
Apart from this the motorcycle is likely to remain the same and use the same suspension and braking hardware. The 790 Duke rides on 43mm inverted forks sourced from WP and a pre-load adjustable, gas-assisted monoshock. Meanwhile, braking is handled by twin 300mm discs in the front while the rear gets a 240mm single disc.
Electronic riding aids consist of like lean-sensitive traction control, cornering ABS, launch and wheelie control along with riding modes that include the ‘Supermoto mode’ that features on the 390 Duke and new 250 Duke. KTM could price the new 790 Duke at a premium of around Rs 10,000-Rs 12,000 over the current model which costs Rs 8.63 lakhs (ex-showroom).
