- New models based on the existing 440cc platform are to be introduced
- More variants based on the Harley-Davidson X440 are incoming
- Recently revealed in an exchange filing from Hero MotoCorp
Hero MotoCorp has extended its partnership with the American bikemaker, Harley-Davidson. The same was recently revealed in an exchange filing on SEBI by Hero MotoCorp. The JV between the two bike makers will result in new models based on the Harley-Davidson X440.
Along with introducing more X440 variants, the document also reveals that a new motorcycle could be developed. The products resulting from this JV will cater not only to the Indian market but also to select international markets.
As of now, Hero and Harley-Davidson only have one model each—Maverick 440 and X440, respectively, based on the said platform. However, some recently filed design patent documents have also revealed a more rugged-looking model. It not only had a braced handlebar but also a small visor above the LED headlight, a slightly more muscular fuel tank, and extensions as well.
Moreover, back in April 2024, Hero MotoCorp also trademarked the name Mavrick 440 Scrambler. So, it won’t be a surprise if a Scrambler is what we see next on this 440cc platform.
