- Aprilia begins deliveries of the RS 660
- Launched in India in the first week of September
- Priced at Rs 13.39 lakh (ex-showroom)
Aprilia India launched the all-new RS 660 supersport in the first week of September 2021. After more than a month now, deliveries of the motorcycle have finally commenced. As per Aprilia’s post on its social media handle, the first owner of the RS 660 received the bike just recently.
Aprilia introduced the new RS 660 in India with a rather steep price tag of Rs 13.39 lakh (ex-showroom). It is powered by a 659cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that is tuned to produce 98.6bhp of power at 10,500rpm and 67Nm of peak torque at 8,500rpm. The safety of the rider is taken care of by electronic aids like cruise control, three-level cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, engine brake control and five riding modes including Commute, Dynamic, Individual, Challenge and Time Attack.
On the design front, the motorcycle is majorly inspired by its bigger sibling, the RSV4 1100 Factory. There’s a sleek-looking dual-pod LED headlamp nestled in a muscular and sharp fairing. This is accompanied by a nicely chiseled fuel tank and a short and raked tail section. The lighting all around is of LED type while the instrumentation setup comprises a full-colour TFT display.
The Aprilia RS 660 is also equipped with some premium hardware like Kayaba 41mm upside down forks up front and an asymmetrically mounted monoshock at the rear. Braking is handled by 320mm discs for the front a 220mm disc at the rear with Brembo calipers at both ends.
