Piaggio India has announced the launch of the new disc brake variant of the Aprilia Storm 125. This version of the 125cc scooter is priced at Rs 91,321. In comparison, the drum brake version retails at Rs 85,431. The disc brake variant made debut at the 2020 Auto Expo while its pre-bookings began this month.
The new variant comes equipped with a 200mm front disc brake with a twin-pot calliper. The braking setup at the rear wheel comprises of a 150mm drum brake. The safety net on the 125cc scooter includes CBS tech. Apart from the addition of a disc brake, the scooter also gets a digital cluster. Other features include a six-litre fuel tank, 12-inch black alloy wheels with wide cross pattern tyres and bold graphics. Buyers can select from two colour options – Red and Yellow.
The scooter is powered by a BS6-compliant 124.45cc, air-cooled, SOHC, three-valve engine that produces 9.7bhp of maximum power at 7,500rpm and 9.60Nm of peak torque at 5,500rpm.
The scooter is available for booking on Aprilia’s e-commerce platform and at the dealerships. Piaggio India is offering benefits worth Rs 2,000 on the online booking of the new Vespa or Aprilia scooters. The company is also offering free road-side assistance, free first year labour service and a five-year warranty with the scooter.
