Aprilia is yet to officially announce the launch of the SXR 125 although the brand has revealed the pricing of the maxi-scooter on its website. Nevertheless, here we tell you all there is to know about the new Aprilia SXR 125.
Styling
The Aprilia SXR 125 does not stray away from the design of its bigger siblings- the SXR 160. It sports the twin LED headlamp, tinted windscreen, a large seat, and sleek rear section all neatly incorporated into its maxi-scooter styling. You’d be forgiven to mistake the SXR 125 for its bigger sibling unless you step in closer to notice the ‘SXR 125’ badging.
Colours
Aprilia is offering the SXR 125 with the same colour options as the SXR 160. There are the white, blue, red and black options that come with sporty graphics on the side panels.
Features
The feature list on the new SXR 125 is the same as the SXR 160. It gets full-LED lighting, USB port, and an LCD instrument cluster. The scooter also offers a lockable front storage compartment, decently spacious underseat storage, and a 7-litre fuel tank.
Cycle Parts
The Aprilia SXR 125 is built on the same chassis as the SXR 160 and even shares its suspension and braking with the latter. It gets telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at the rear whereas braking is done by a 220mm disc for the front and a 140mm drum at the rear. However, it rides on 12-inch wheels at both ends that are smaller than the SXR 160’s 14-inch units.
Engine
Powering the Aprilia SXR 125 is a 125cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, three-valve motor that is capable of producing 9.4bhp of power at 7,600rpm and 9.2Nm of torque at 6,250rpm. This engine is the same as the one on the SR 125.
Pricing
Now, Aprilia has priced the SXR 125 at Rs 1.15 lakh, ex-showroom Pune. This makes it much more expensive than its rival- the Suzuki Burgman Street 125 that costs Rs 87,871 for its top-spec model that also boasts of a Bluetooth-enabled cluster.
