- New SXR 125 to cost Rs 1.15 lakh
- Rs 30,000 expensive than Burgman Street 125
- Official launch soon
Piaggio will launch the Aprilia SXR 125 in India soon and according to our sources, this maxi-scooter will be priced at Rs 1.15 lakh (ex-showroom).
The company had commenced the pre-bookings of this Aprilia last week and it could be done at the Piaggio showrooms and also through Amazon. The customer had to pay a token amount of Rs 5000 in order to make the booking.
Like its elder sibling, the SXR 125 also boasts a design that is quite attractive and aspirational. It gets features such as a twin-pod LED headlight, LED taillight, full digital cluster, a comfortable saddle, adjustable rear suspension, and a front disc brake with CBS. The Bluetooth connectivity feature comes as an option.
Powering this scooter is a 125cc single-cylinder three-value motor that produces 9.4bhp at 7600rpm and peak torque of 9.2Nm. There are not details on the CVT gearbox that will be used on the SXR 125. We believe it will be the same unit from the Storm 125.
The Aprilia SXR 125 competes with the Suzuki Burgman Street 125 which is much cheaper. We are yet to ride the SXR 125 but like most of the scooters in the line-up, the SXR 125 is also going be out of reach for majority of the Indian customers. .
