New Bajaj Chetak electric platform under development

- New Chetak platform to debut in early FY2025-26

- Next-generation architecture could offer more range and performance

Bajaj Auto is working on expanding its electric scooter portfolio and is readying a slew of products in the EV space in the coming months. The company will soon launch the Bajaj Chetak 2903 variant around the festive period. Besides more affordable and premium versions of its existing models, Bajaj is also working on an all-new Chetak electric platform.

This new electric platform will spawn next-generation electric scooters under the Chetak brand. However, Bajaj has refrained from revealing any details about this new platform. That said, we hope the new EV architecture can accommodate larger battery packs and fast charging. We expect the latest platform to offer more advanced features such as Google Maps navigation, touchscreen instrumentation and more.

The new Chetak platform is expected to debut in the early part of FY2025. So, the earliest we can see it will be in the April-June quarter. Till now, Bajaj has taken the family scooter approach with its EVs, and we hope the company offers more body styles based on the new Chetak platform.
