Bajaj is scheduled to launch the new Dominar 250 in India sometime in March. The smaller Dominar was spotted testing a while ago revealing vital details about the upcoming motorcycle. Here we list down four things we know about the Dominar 250 so far.
Styling
The Bajaj Dominar 250 borrows its styling from the bigger Dominar 400 and gets aggressive lines all through the bodywork. It also sports a muscular fuel tank, a split seat setup along with the distinctive exhaust and tail lamp design.
While the spy images did not reveal the front end of the Dominar 250, it could get conventional lighting with LED DRL to keep costs in check.
Engine
Similar to most of the performance focused motorcycles in Bajaj’s line-up, the Dominar 250 will borrow its engine from a KTM; the 250 Duke. While the 248cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor produces 29.6bhp and 24Nm on the Duke, the Dominar will offer slightly lesser output. Nevertheless, the motor will come equipped with a six-speed gearbox.
Cycle parts
The Bajaj Dominar 250 rides on inverted forks upfront and a monoshock at the rear while braking duties are done with discs at both ends. However, it gets skinnier tyres as compared to the Dominar 400 and sports a box-type swingarm which also helps in visually differentiating the two motorcycles.
Pricing
We expect Bajaj to price the Dominar 250 around Rs 1.5 lakhs to Rs 1.6 lakhs, ex-showroom. This makes it around Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000 more affordable than the Dominar 400 priced at Rs 1.90 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
