- Expected to be priced Rs 85,011, ex-showroom
- Receives 220F’s fairing and new colour scheme
- Bookings accepted by few dealers for a token amount of Rs 2,000
Stepping up the game in the 180cc segment, Bajaj is set to give the Pulsar 180 a significant update by introducing it with the half-fairing from the Pulsar 220F. Like its elder sibling, the Pulsar 180 will receive the ‘F’ suffix and will be marketed as the ‘Pulsar 18OF’. A leaked image of the motorcycle confirms the same featuring the 180F lettering on the tail panel of the bike. Apart from the addition of the half-fairing and the projectors lights that come with it, the motorcycle will be offered with a matte colour scheme with neon highlights similar to the recently launched Pulsar 150 Neon series.
Moreover, on contacting Bajaj dealerships we learnt that the motorcycles are expected to reach the showrooms shortly. A few dealerships have also started accepting bookings for the motorcycle for a minimum token amount of Rs 2000.
Notably, the leaked image of the motorcycle didn’t feature an ABS pulse ring on the front wheel hub, thus suggesting that the bike will be initially sold without ABS. However, we expect it to be updated with the same from April once the safety regulations come into effect. Also, considering the current low sales figures for the standard Pulsar 180, Bajaj is expected to phase out the model in the future.
On the mechanical front, the Pulsar 180F continues to be powered by the same 178cc air-cooled single-cylinder motor with Bajaj’s DTS-i technology that churns out 17bhp of max power at 8500rpm and 14Nm of peak torque at 6500rpm. The motor comes mated to a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox. The motorcycle rides on telescopic forks with anti-friction bush at the front and 5-way adjustable Nitrox twin shock absorbers at the back. For braking, the Pulsar 180F gets a 260mm single disc up front and a 230mm disc brake for the rear.
In terms of pricing, as per our sources, the new Pulsar 180F is likely to carry a sticker price of Rs 85,011, ex-showroom once officially launched.
