- New 302R unveiled
- Gets aggressive styling
- India launch this year
Benelli has just unveiled the next generation 302R – their entry-level fully-faired motorcycle. This motorcycle has received massive changes to make it extremely competitive.
The Benelli 302R now looks sharper and aggressive from all angles. The fascia shows sleek panels and the bike is now equipped with a vertically stacked projection lamps that is flanked by LED turn indicators. The overall body panel designs has improved considerably and flows smoothly. The frame too, have been heavily revised and is much lighter than the old model. In fact, the 2021 302R has lost a whopping 22kgs, making it weigh around 182kgs.
Talking about its engine, the bike continues to be powered by a 302cc parallel-twin 34bhp motor. But it now meets Euro 5 norms and that means it is also BS6 compliant. While there is a small drop in power, the considerable weight loss would mean that the bike will be exciting to ride.
The bike now gets 41mm front forks with preload adjustability and at the rear, there’s a mono-shock with the same adjustability feature. The braking department is taken care of by dual-discs four-piston caliper and a single disc at the rear.
We are expecting Benelli India to launch the new 302R in the next few months and like they did it with the TRK 502, we can expect them to price is quite aggressively. If that happens, then the Ninja 300 will have some serious competition.
