Benelli has launched its smallest adventure-touring motorcycle in India- the TRK 251. So let us tell you all about this Royal Enfield Himalayan and Hero Xpulse 200 rival in five points.
Pricing
Let’s get the price out of the way first. Benelli has pegged the TRK 251 at Rs 2.51 lakh, making it Rs 1.28 lakh more expensive than the Xpulse 200 and Rs 41,000 more than the Royal Enfield Himalayan. And if you compare it with the KTM 250 Adventure, the TRK 251 costs a premium of Rs 21,000.
Styling
The TRK 251 borrows heavily from its bigger sibling- the TRK 502 which is also sold in India. So it gets a nose-like fender with split headlamps, a tall windscreen, muscular fuel tank, and large seats for the pillion and rider. Benelli is offering the TRK 251 in a choice of three colours- Glossy White, Glossy Black, and Glossy Grey.
Engine
Under the Benelli TRK 251’s frame is a 249cc, single-cylinder motor that churns out 25.8bhp of power and 21.2Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to a six-speed gearbox.
Cycle parts
For cycle parts, the motorcycle uses inverted forks at the front and a monoshock for the rear. Meanwhile, braking is done by a 280mm disc for the front and a 240mm disc at the rear.
Features
The list of features on the new TRK 251 is almost on par with its rivals. It gets an LED projector headlamp with LED DRLs as well as LED turn signals. There also is an LCD instrument cluster that does not come with Bluetooth connectivity.
