BMW Motorrad has expanded its R 18 line-up with the introduction of the R 18 B bagger-style motorcycle. This new model will soon be available in several international market, although its Indian launch details are not available yet. The styling cues on the bagger-style model from the German two-wheeler maker include a low windshield, a slimmer seat, and a matte black metallic engine.
The new R 18 B, similar to the Transcontinental model, uses a double-loop tube steel frame and it is powered by a 1,802cc, twin-cylinder boxer engine. The motor produces 90bhp of power at 4,750rpm and 158Nm of peak torque at 3,000rpm. The feature list comprises of Dynamic Cruise Control (DCC) as standard while the Active Cruise Control (ACC), which works with radar technology, is available as an optional extra. The radar system also brings cornering control system to the bagger-style motorcycle.
Standard features on the R 18 B include LED lighting, four analogue round instruments and a 10.25 inch TFT-colour display, Marshall sound system, keyless ride, three riding modes (Rain, Rock, and Roll), Automatic Stability Control, engine drag torque control, and Hill Start Control.
The colour choices include Black, 719 Galaxy Dust Metallic, Manhattan Metallic Matte, and First Edition. BMW Motorrad will offer optional accessories to further customise the motorcycle.
