Images of the next generation BMW R1200GS Adventure have been accidently leaked from BMW’s design patent application. The leaked images show the motorcycle from all angles showing the changes the German maker has done to their flagship touring motorcycle.
The most significant of the change is the huge 33-litre fuel tank which is now a part of the standard equipment. Earlier it was offered as a BMW original accessory on the base variant. An increase of 13-litre in the fuel tank capacity is now expected to allow the motorcycle to run around 500km in a single tank up.
The pictures clearly show the motorcycle has been fitted with BMW’s Dynamic ESA semi-active suspension which will help the rider alter the settings depending on the luggage load he or she is carrying. However, it is not clear if it is standard equipment. The new R1200GS is sure to get the ABS and the ASC traction control as standard equipment. This is also expected to include a redesigned LED headlamp.
The motorcycle’s ride height might be increased by 30mm and is fitted with the stock GS wire wheels. The luggage rack has also been replaced with a simpler version which will make its way for additional luggage. We can expect BMW to unveil this motorcycle in next few months.
