- New S1000RR could debut this year
- Confirmed by Althea Racing chief Genesio Bevilacqua
- Could be equipped with counter-rotating crankshaft
It was almost a year ago when we talked about the next generation BMW S1000RR as it was spied testing somewhere in Europe. Now almost a year later there’s finally some confirmation on this German litre-class bike.
The chief of Althea Racing Genesio Bevilacqua confirmed to GPOne that the new S1000RR will be used for the 2019 WSBK. This means this new motorcycle is almost ready and should make its debut either at the upcoming Intermot show or the EICMA in Milan.
From the earlier spy shots, it was clear that the new S1000RR will get revised design, though it will stick to its original design inspiration. While there’s not much information on this new BMW, rumours suggest that it use a counter-rotating crankshaft to make it more agile. This new BMW is expected to get a bump in power, along with the addition of more sophisticated electronics.
We are quite excited to see the new S1000RR as it is considered one of the best in its category. This bike will definitely make its way to India sometime next year as there’s a major fan following in the country.
