- Upcoming Desert X teased
- Likely to get 937cc motor
- India launch likely in 2022
Ducati had first showcased the Desert X concept at the 2019 EICMA. After creating quite a buzz at the event, the Italian manufacturer has finally released the unveil date of the motorcycle- 9 December 2021.
The Ducati Desert X concept was based on the Scrambler 1100 with heavy inspiration from the Dakar bikes of the mid-80s. Everything from the bodywork and circular DRLs harks back to the retro rally style. What’s more, to complement its off-road prowess, the Desert X comes with a 21-inch front wheel, twin fuel tanks as well as a removable pillion seat.
However, the production model will come powered by the 937cc, Testastretta engine from the new Monster that was recently launched in India rather than the 1079cc motor from the Scrambler 1100. And while that’s all the information available on the Ducati Desert X currently we can expect some more details to arrive in a few months' time. Ducati has also announced that it would be unveiling five other motorcycles as part of the Ducati World Premiere 2022 that would commence online from 30 September.
