- Teaser images hint at imminent launch
- Euro5-compliant engine makes 112.4bhp and 96Nm
- Likely to arrive in Rs 12.50-13.50 lakh price range
Ducati India has released a teaser image of an upcoming motorcycle on its social media handles. While the company has not revealed the product details, the teaser hints at the Indian launch of the BS6-compliant Hypermotard 950.
The Euro5-compliant version of the Hypermotard 950 is already available in select international markets. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, the Euro5-compliant, 937cc Ducati Testastretta 11-degree V-twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine delivers 112.4bhp of maximum power at 9,000rpm and 96Nm of peak torque at 7,250rpm. We expect the BS6-compliant model to deliver similar numbers.
Internationally, the Hypermotard 950 is available in three variants – Hypermotard 950, Hypermotard 950 RVE, and the Hypermotard 950 SP. The details about the India-bound Hypermotard 950 are limited, however, we expect to see the base model on our shores.
The latest iteration of the motorcycle packs styling elements such as a twin under-seat exhaust setup, minimal bodywork, a trellis frame, a trellis sub-frame, a wide handlebar, knuckleguard-integrated LED blinkers, a flat seat, and 17-inch wheels. The feature list comprises LED lighting, a 4.3-inch TFT display, a tapered aluminium handlebar, removable passenger footpegs, and a USB power socket. The electronic rider aids include Bosch six-axis inertial platform, riding modes, power modes, cornering ABS, traction control, and wheelie control.
The motorcycle should arrive in our market very soon. We expect the new Hypermotard 950 BS6 to carry a premium over its predecessor and retail in the Rs 12.50 lakh to Rs 13.50 lakh (ex-showroom) price range.
