- Powered by the same 937cc engine
- Weighs lesser than the Multistrada 950
- Could be priced higher than the 950
Ducati India is scheduled to launch the new Multistrada V2 in India tomorrow, 25 April. The motorcycle will replace the Multistrada 950 priced at Rs 15.49 lakh, ex-showroom and could demand a premium over that pricing.
Now, powering the Multistrada V2 is the same 937cc, Testastretta motor from the Multistrada 950. It churns out 111.5bhp but the torque has increased from 94Nm to 96Nm for the Multistrada V2. Moreover, the Multistrada V2 also weighs 5kg lesser than the 950.
That said, the electronics package remains the same as the 950. It is fitted with cornering ABS, Vehicle Hold Control, Ducati Traction Control, and four riding modes- Sport, Touring, Urban, and Enduro. Just like the 950, the Multistrada V2 is offered in a top-spec S variant that benefits from Ducati’s Skyhook Suspension EVO semi-active suspension system, Ducati Cornering Lights and Ducati Quick Shift Up & Down. It also gets a five-inch colour TFT display, cruise control system, and backlit handlebar controls as standard.
On the design front, the Multistrada V2 looks the same as the Multistrada 950. However, it gets a new paint scheme for the S variant to distinguish itself. It will be interesting to see how Ducati prices the Multi V2 since one of its biggest competitors- the BMW F850 GS is now priced much lower than before. Other than that, the motorcycle will also go up against the Triumph Tiger 900 in the country.
