- Rides on 17-inch Marchesini forged aluminum rims on both ends
- Gets special Pikes Peak livery
- Features revisions to the chassis and a single-sided swingarm
Ducati has unveiled the Pikes Peak variant of its flagship adventure tourer motorcycle range, the Multistrada V4. This new variant of the Italian adventure tourer packs a sportier persona than the standard model.
This newly unveiled variant of the Multistrada V4 family also gets upgrades to the chassis set-up, ergonomics, and electronic controls. The Pikes Peak edition uses a 17-inch front wheel as against 19-inch unit on the standard motorcycle. The Marchesini forged aluminum rims are 2.7kg lighter than those of the Multistrada V4 S. This variant also benefits from a single-sided swingarm instead of the twin-sided unit on the standard Multistrada V4.
Other components that distinguish the new Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak from the standard model include an Akrapovič titanium and carbon silencer, Ohlins Smart EC 2.0 electronic suspension, two-tone black and red rear saddle embellished with the V4 logo, and the Ducati Corse badge on the “beak”. The styling revision brings the dedicated 'Pikes Peak' livery to the motorcycle.
The mechanical specifications retain the newly developed, 1,160cc, V4-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that makes 167.6bhp of maximum power and 125Nm of peak torque. Electronic rider aids include riding modes, power modes, radar-based Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Blind Spot Detection (BSD), wheelie control, traction control system, vehicle hold control, and cornering ABS. The 6.5-inch TFT dashboard comes standard with the Ducati Connect system.
The braking hardware on the new Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak include twin 330mm discs with Brembo Stylema monobloc callipers at the front and a single 265mm rotor with a Brembo floating calliper at the rear.
The Indian launch details are unavailable yet, although we could see this motorcycle on our shores next year. Do note that Ducati India has not made any official announcement yet.
