-Showcased at the 2024 World Ducati Week
-Gets refreshed styling
-Gets new swingarm
The new Ducati Panigale V4 has been unveiled at the 2024 World Ducati Week. The design of the bike has undergone a major overhaul and it looks sharper, sleeker, and more aggressive than its predecessor.
New design
Beginning from the front end, gone are the LED projector headlights, and in come a set of sleeker LED headlights. These look loosely inspired by the Ducati Multistrada V4’s headlights and give the new Panigale V4 an angrier face. There’s a new windscreen that appears to be bigger than the one on the current bike.
The aerodynamic winglets, that have become the mainstay of superbikes these days are also new. These are placed right below the headlights and are body coloured, which wasn’t the case with the previous bike.
When viewed from the side, one can see the new side fairing that has redesigned vents and other aerodynamic shapes to enhance both the form and functionality of the bike. Even the fuel tank, the footrest, and the tail section are new, replete with a redesigned LED tail light.
Revised ergonomics
The Panigale V4 has always had a demanding riding position and Ducati has worked on improving this in the new bike. The new, 17-litre fuel tank is shaped to offer more support under braking or while hanging off the bike. There is a new seat as well that is 35mm longer and 50mm wider than the previous bike, making for a roomier perch. Lastly, the footpegs are placed 10mm further and that will improve overall comfort.
Tweaked chassis
Under the pretty bodywork, there are some tweaks to the chassis. The bike has a “Front Frame” with a 40 percent reduction in lateral stiffness but longitudinal stiffness is unchanged. It also weighs less while increased flexibility is said to offer a better feel and hence faster corner speeds. The new Panigale V4 also ditches the single-sided swingarn and instead gets a new hollow symmetrical swingarm. This unit has 37 per cent reduced lateral stiffness and Ducati claims greater mechanical grip and increased stability.
The Panigale V4 S gets the third generation of the Ohlins electronic suspension. At the front, there is an NPX-30 pressurised fork and at the rear, there is a TTX36 monoshock.
The bike also gets new braking hardware in the form of Brembo Hypure callipers. These are an evolution of the Brembo Stylema calipers and weigh 30 grams less while also being more efficient at heat dissipation. The bike rides on new 17-inch alloy wheels that are lighter by 2.17kg which has resulted in reduced inertia. The wheels are shod with Pirelli Diablo Supercorse SP-V4 tyres.
Engine
The 1,103cc, V4 engine is now Euro5+ compliant and makes 214bhp at 13.500rpm and 120.9Nm at 11,250rpm. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox with a quickshifter as standard.
Electronics
The new Panigale V4 gets a plethora of electronics that includes, power modes (Full, High, Medium and Low), ride modes, traction control, wheelie control, slide control and more.
The settings for these can be accessed via a new 6.9-inch colour TFT display. This is a high-resolution display and is said to offer clear visibility, even under harsh light.
Coming to India
The new Panigale V4 will be launched in India, in both standard and S trims. This is likely to happen towards the end of this year. Prices of the bike should hover between Rs 28 lakh to Rs 30 lakh, ex-showroom.
