Harley-Davidson India has released new images of the upcoming new X440 roadster ahead of its launch in our market. The Indian arm of the American manufacturer has also revealed the launch details for this motorcycle here. This new entry-level motorcycle, which has been developed in partnership with Hero MotoCorp, will arrive in India on 4 July, 2023.
The newest images give an up-close look at the production-ready motorcycle. The styling cues comprise a Harley Davidson XR1200-inspired design, including a round headlight with integrated branding, a single-pod instrument cluster, a flat handlebar, a side-slung exhaust, machined alloy wheels, and retro-style round indicators. Further, the branding on the fuel tank now reveals the full name of the motorcycle. Previously, Harley-Davidson called this product the 4XX. Now, the branding on the fuel tank reveals the X440 name tag.
Meanwhile, the company is yet to reveal the finer details about the engine on this product. However, the new images reveal an oil and air-cooled, single-cylinder setup. The displacement will most likely be 440cc. Notably, previous images had revealed that this motor will redline at 8,000rpm, thus indicating that this could be a long-stroke motor. If true, this upcoming Harley-Davidson motorcycle will deliver good low-end and mid-range torque.
The hardware on this motorcycle will include upside-down front forks, twin rear shocks, and disc brakes on both wheels. Further, the safety net will most likely comprise a dual-channel ABS and a side-stand engine cut-off function. The newest images also reveal the multifunction switchgear on this motorcycle. Thus, we could see additional features such as Bluetooth connectivity on the Harley-Davidson X440.
The new Harley-Davidson X440 will rival the likes of the Royal Enfield Classic 350 and Meteor 350 in the Indian market. We expect the motorcycle to arrive in the Rs. 2.50 lakh to Rs. 3 lakh (ex-showroom) price range.
