Harley-Davidson has commenced the dispatches of its most-affordable motorcycle, the X440 to its dealerships in India. This motorcycle is available in three variants – Denim, Vivid, and S. The Denim variant is the most affordable version on the list, and it comes equipped with wire-spoke wheels. Then, the mid-spec Vivid version gets alloy wheels and a dual-tone finish.
Further, the range-topping S model comes loaded with premium features such as diamond-cut alloy wheels, a full suite of connectivity options via the Harley Davidson app, and 3D logos. The Bluetooth module brings a turn-by-turn navigation function to the top model.
While the feature list is different on these variants, the styling cues across the range include a round headlight with integrated Harley-Davidson branding, a single-pod instrument cluster, a flat handlebar, a side-slung exhaust, machined alloy wheels, and retro-style round indicators. The mechanical specifications, too, are identical on all variants. Thus, the new Harley-Davidson X440 uses a 440cc, single-cylinder, oil and air-cooled engine with a two-valve setup that makes a maximum output of 27bhp at 6,000rpm and 38Nm of peak torque at 4,000rpm.
The motorcycle is built around a trellis frame. Then, the shock absorption tasks are handled by 43mm upside-down front forks and gas-charged, preload-adjustable twin rear shocks. The braking department comprises single disc brakes on both wheels, while the safety net includes a dual-channel ABS and a side-stand engine cut-off function.
This motorcycle rivals the likes of the Royal Enfield Classic 350 and Triumph Speed 400 in the Indian market.
