Hero MotoCorp has launched the new Achiever 150 at Rs 61,800 (ex-showroom Delhi).This will be the drum brake variant. The disc brake version will be available at Rs 62,800 (ex-showroom Delhi).
The new Achiever 150 is the second new motorcycle from the company after the Splendor 110 iSmart. Developed at Hero’s CIT facility, the new Achiever has been launched to cater to the growing premium commuter segment. The Gurgaon-based manufacturer has taken a different design approach which has made the bike look more contemporary and modern.
The new Achiever is powered by an 150cc single-cylinder engine which is BS-IV compliant. This mill produces 13.4bhp at 8000rpm and peak torque at 12.8Nm at 5000rpm. This engine transfers power to the rear wheel via a five-speed gearbox. Hero claims a 0-60kmph acceleration in five seconds. The braking power is taken care of by a 240mm disc in the front and 130mm drum at the rear. There’s a drum brake variant as well, which will be sold alongside.
In terms of features, the new Achiever 150 gets i3s technology, a new instrument cluster that has side-stand indicator, tubeless-tyres and all-time on headlamp (AHO). The new Achiever 150 tips the scale at 139kg. The fuel tank capacity stands at 13litres. The new Achiever 150 is available in three colours – noble black, fiery red and valor grey. There’s also a limited edition model which has been launched to commemorate the company’s 70 million sales. Only 70 units will be sold.
The new Hero Achiever competes with the Bajaj V15, Yamaha SZ RR V2.0 and the Honda Unicorn 150.
