Hero MotoCorp will launch the new Achiever on September 26 for the Indian market. This new launch is part of company’s strategy of introducing new products for the upcoming festive season.
The current Achiever has been on a sale since a very long time. Other than a few cosmetic changes, the Achiever hasn’t seen any drastic change, until now. While the Gurgaon-based manufacturer is very tight-lipped about the new Achiever, we believe it could get a major aesthetic changes to make the bike look more attractive. In terms of mechanicals, the new Achiever might be more fuel efficient and could get Hero’s patented i3s (Integrated start stop system). Other than this, we don’t think Hero will be playing a lot with this engine as it’s the unit that was developed by Honda.
As per Hero MotoCorp’s long term strategy, the company would first update its bread and butter models. The Splendor iSmart was the first in the 100cc segment, followed by the introduction of new scooters – the Maestro Edge and Duet. This was necessary due to the growing demand in the scooter segment. This launch was followed by the introduction of the Splendor iSmart 110. And now it looks like Hero wants to strengthen its product in the mass market 150cc segment with the new Achiever. Once launched, the new Hero Achiever will compete with the Bajaj Pulsar 150 and the Honda Unicorn 150.
Stay tuned to BikeWale as we get you more information on the new Hero Achiever from the launch event.
