-Has a new design
- Gets new features
- Launch expected next month
The Hero Destini 125 is all set to be launched soon. We are going to ride the scooter early next month and the launch is expected to take place around the same time as well. The new Hero Destini 125 will be tasked with taking on established competition in the 125cc space. Going by the leaked images of the scooter and patent documents it looks like the scooter is markedly different from what we’ve seen from Hero in the past.
Beginning with the design, the new Destini 125 has a mix of both modern and retro elements. It has a nice, rounded style with a few crease lines across the bodywork. The front apron has integrated turn indicators and a little nostril in the center. The scooter also gets a new LED headlight.
Move to the side and you’ve got a largely flat side panel with the badging pasted on the rear portion.
The tail section is also quite interestingly styled. It has a stepped design and one can also see the external fuel filler cap.
As for the engine, it is likely to be carried forward from the outgoing scooter. The 125cc, single-cylinder engine makes 9bhp at 7000rpm and 10.4Nm at 5500rpm. It is paired with a CVT.
Moving on to the hardware, the frame is suspended by a telescopic fork and a monoshock. The new Destini 125 rides on the same alloy wheels that we’ve seen on the Hero Xoom. As for the brakes, the base variants will have an all drum setup while the top variant will get a disc brake at the front.
We expect the new Hero Destini 125 to be priced around Rs 80,000 to Rs 85,000, ex-showroom. In terms of competition, it goes up against the TVS Jupiter 125 and the Suzuki Access 125.
