- Features a retro-inspired styling
- Likely to be launched around the festive season
Hero MotoCorp is set to launch a significantly revamped version of the Destini 125 scooter in India. The design patent image of the new Hero Destini 125 has been leaked online.
The patent image shows the profile of the scooter, which reveals a retro-inspired flat side panel and a protruding taillight assembly. Previous leaked images have revealed that the overall design will combine modern and retro styling elements. The front apron will have a new LED headlamp and copper accents.
Hero MotoCorp is unlikely to offer mechanical changes on the new Destini 125. It is expected to be powered by the same 125cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces 9bhp at 7,000rpm and 10.4Nm at 5,500rpm. This motor will be paired with a CVT automatic.
With the updated aesthetics and possibly an upgraded features list, Hero plans to take on the Suzuki Access 125 and the TVS Jupiter 125. The new Destini 125 is expected to be launched in India closer to the festive season. It could be priced between Rs. 80,000 to Rs. 85,000 (ex-showroom).
