Most of us know that the facelifted Hero Karizma R and the Karizma ZMR didn’t do well in the Indian market. Their poor performance led to the production halt of these bikes.
But over the last couple of months, there’ve been rumours of the new Karizmas making their way to the Indian market. Recently, we called a couple of dealers around Mumbai and Delhi who confirmed the existence of the new Karizmas. In fact, as per them, it’ll hit the Indian market as early as March, which makes us believe that the unveil will happen at the upcoming 2016 Auto Expo.
Hero MotoCorp is known to keep their dealers in the loop when it comes to new product launches. In fact, they’re known to take their dealers outside India for showcasing their new line-up. But this time, we haven’t heard or seen something like this happening. Now what's interesting is the brand ‘Karizma’. Why do we say this? Because at the unveiling of the HX250R, Pawan Munjal, Chairman of Hero MotoCorp, said that the HX250R isn’t the final name of the motorcycle and is just a code word. The final production version will have a different name. This makes us wonder, will Hero MotoCorp rebrand the HX250R to Karizma 250? They might because Karizma has lost its brand value and in order to revive the brand, Hero might name their first 250cc motorcycle as a Karizma.
