Hero MotoCorp will soon update its portfolio with the launch of the Maestro Xoom on 30 January, 2023. This product will get several premium features. Here, we tell you everything that we could see on this upcoming motorcycle.
Styling
The new Maestro Xoom will feature a modern design that should appeal to young buyers. The finer details are not available yet. However, the teaser image of this upcoming scooter shows styling cues such as an apron-mounted, body-coloured front fender, sharp body panels, and a flat seat. Since this scooter will be primarily targeted towards young buyers, we expect to see bold colour options on offer.
Variants
While the official details about the variants are scarce, leaked documents have revealed that this scooter will be available in three variants – LX, VX, and ZX. The LX will be the most-affordable version while the ZX will sit at the top of the list. We expect the ZX variant to benefit from Bluetooth connectivity and pack features such as call notification and turn-by-turn navigation. This variant could also get alloy wheels and a front disc brake. Meanwhile, the lower variants may get drum brakes and steel wheels.
Features
The teaser shows LED lighting, which we expect to be a standard feature across the complete Maestro Xoom range. We also expect all variants to get an LCD screen to show ride-related data. Meanwhile, the highest-spec variant could get a Bluetooth module that will work with a dedicated smartphone application. Then, the safety net across the range should comprise a combined braking system and a side-stand engine cut-off function. The company may also add i3S start-stop technology to this scooter to improve fuel economy.
Engine
The mechanical specifications, as seen in the leaked document, will remain similar to the Maestro Edge 110. Thus, the upcoming Maestro Xoom will use a BS6-compliant 110.9cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. This motor is tuned to deliver a maximum output of 8.04bhp at 7,250rpm and a peak torque of 8.70Nm at 5,750rpm on the Maestro Edge 110. We expect to see similar numbers on the Maestro Xoom as well.
Hardware
The hardware, too, will be similar to the Maestro Edge 110. Thus, we expect the new Maestro Xoom to use telescopic front forks and a single rear spring to handle the suspension duties. The braking setup on the base models could include drum brakes. The VX variant, on the other hand, could feature a disc brake at the front. Similar to the Maestro Edge, the Xoom variant could use 12-inch front and 10-inch rear wheels.
The prices will be announced at the launch on 30 January, 2023. We expect this variant to carry a price premium over the Maestro Edge 110 and arrive in the Rs 80,000-Rs 90,000 (ex-showroom) range.
