Hero MotoCorp will soon introduce the four-valve variant of the Xpulse 200 in the Indian market. The new Xpulse 200 4V was recently showcased to the dealers, and we have received the photographs of the motorcycle from the event. While we await more details about this upcoming motorcycle, here we tell you everything that we know about the Xpulse 200 4V yet.
Engine
The biggest change to the Xpulse 200 4V is the addition of a new four-valve setup instead of the two-valve system on the current model. This should help the adventure-tourer motorcycle deliver higher power output figure than the current motorcycle. The 199.6cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled, two-valve engine makes 17.8bhp and 16.45Nm of peak torque. While the official numbers are not available yet, the updated motor could produce close to 20bhp of maximum power. The increased power output should deliver a relatively higher top speed and cruising speed to the Xpulse 200 4V.
Design
While the mechanical specifications would receive a major upgrade, the styling will remain unaltered. Thus the upcoming Hero Xpulse 200 4V, as seen in the leaked photographs, will retain a tall-set front fender, knuckle guards, a round headlight, spacious saddle, and a tall-set exhaust. The new model will, however, get updated graphics and new colours to distinguish it from the two-valve version. The optional Rally Kit (pictured below) will be available for the four-valve variant as well. This kit will bring features such as longer-travel suspension, knobby-tyres, a flat saddle, and a longer side stand to the motorcycle.
Features
The feature list, too, should remain similar to the two-valve variant, and the Xpulse 200 4V will most likely continue to pack an LED headlight, LED taillight, and a Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster. The display should also retain the turn-by-turn navigation function. The safety net on the motorcycle should retain the single-channel ABS setup.
Hardware
The hardware on the new Xpulse 200 4V will be identical to the existing Xpulse 200. Thus, the motorcycle will use telescopic front forks and a preload-adjustable rear mono-shock to handle the shock absorption tasks. The braking setup will include single discs on both wheels while the safety net, as mentioned above, should include a single-channel ABS.
Expected Price
The new motorcycle should carry a marginal premium over the existing model’s Rs 1.21 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) price tag. The new model should arrive ahead of the high-demand festive season, and we expect an early- to mid-October 2021 launch.
