- India launch on 14 June, 2023
- Will use a 4V engine
- Upgrades also include upside-down front forks
Hero MotoCorp has released yet another teaser video of its upcoming motorcycle, the Xtreme 160R ahead of its imminent launch. This new roadster-segment motorcycle is scheduled to arrive in India on June 14, 2023.
Previously, the company confirmed that this TVS Apache RTR 160 4V-rivalling motorcycle will come equipped with a four-valve setup instead of the two-valve layout on the current model. The same teaser video also confirmed that the updated motorcycle will get upside-down front forks as against the conventional telescopic units on the current model. Now, a new teaser video of the upcoming Hero Xtreme 160R on the company’s social media handles has revealed the exhaust note of the motorcycle.
Similar to the two-valve version, the 2023 Hero Xtreme 160R, too, packs a throaty exhaust sound. Further, the design of the canister will remain unchanged, and the upcoming motorcycle will retain the same shape for the setup as the two-valve version. For reference, the current motorcycle uses a 163cc, air-cooled motor that makes 15bhp at 8,500rpm and 14Nm at 6,500rpm. While the output figures may not change, the four-valve setup should further improve the top-end performance of the engine on the new Xtreme 160R.
This TVS Apache RTR 160 4V and Bajaj Pulsar NS160 rival is expected to arrive in the Rs. 1.25 lakh and Rs. 1.30 lakh ex-showroom price range. For reference, the current model is available from Rs 1.18 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) onwards.
