- New Xtreme 200R patent picture leaked
- Gets revised front styling
- Developed for international markets
Hero MotoCorp is working on updating the Xtreme 200R. This model was discontinued due to poor sales, but the company has filed a design patent for an upgraded version.
This new Xtreme 200R gets a revised fascia and an aggressive headlamp unit. This unit will get LED treatment and will be flagged with LED turn indicators. On top of this headlamp unit will be a new fully-digital instrument cluster that will display plenty of ride data. The exhaust is new too and has been changed to make the motorcycle look a bit bulky at the rear end.
In terms of performance, the new Xtreme 200R is expected to generate similar power figures as the Xtreme 200S – 18bhp at 8500rpm and peak torque of 16Nm at 6500rpm. This motor will be mated to a five-speed gearbox.
According to our sources, Hero MotoCorp has no plans of launching the upgraded Xtreme 200R in India anytime soon, and the company is primarily focusing on international markets like Bangladesh and LATAM. But, depending on the market conditions and the demand in the segment, the brand may introduce the bike earlier than planned.
