Hero MotoCorp has updated its India portfolio with the launch of the new Xtreme 200S 4V variant. This new version of the Xtreme 200S benefits from mechanical and styling upgrades, and here we list the top five highlights of this motorcycle from its India launch.
What are the mechanical specifications of the new Hero Xtreme 200S 4V?
The biggest change on the new Xtreme 200S 4V is the addition of a four-valve mechanism. Notably, the displacement has remained unchanged, and the new Xtreme 200S 4V continues to use a 199.6cc, single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled engine. This motor is tuned to deliver a maximum output and peak torque of 18.9bhp at 8,000rpm and 17.35Nm at 6,500rpm, respectively. This motor is linked to a five-speed gearbox, and it is compatible with OBD2 norms and E20 fuel requirements.
Does the new Hero Xtreme 200S 4V get styling revisions and new colours?
The overall design of the four-valve variant remains similar to the two-valve version. Thus, this new model retains a full-fairing, tinted visor, muscular fuel tank, step-up saddle, side-slung exhaust, and 17-inch alloy wheels. However, it benefits from bolder graphics that distinguish it from the two-valve variant. These new graphics are visible on the fairing, fuel tank, and rear panel. Meanwhile, the paint themes include three choices – Moon Yellow, Panther Black Metallic, and Matte Axis Grey Metallic. Further, the 4V version comes with a clip-on-style handlebar instead of the flat unit on the two-valve variant.
What features does the new Hero Xtreme 200S 4V get?
The feature list is similar to the two-valve version, and the new Xtreme 200S 4V comes with an LED headlight, LED taillight, and bulb-type turn indicators. Then, the full-digital LCD console in the cockpit is Bluetooth-enabled and, apart from regular ride-related data, shows the gear position, eco-mode indicator, service reminder, trip meter, and turn-by-turn navigation. Lastly, the safety net on this motorcycle comprises a single-channel ABS and a side-stand engine cut-off function.
What hardware does the new Hero Xtreme 200S 4V use?
The hardware setup remains similar to the 2V version, and the newly launched Xtreme 200S 4V retains telescopic front forks and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock to handle the shock absorption tasks. Then, the anchoring setup comprises petal-type disc brakes on both ends. Further, this motorcycle rides on 17-inch alloy wheels that are shod in tubeless tyres.
What are the variants available and prices for the new Hero Xtreme 200S 4V?
The new Hero Xtreme 200S 4V is available in a single variant and has been priced at Rs. 1.41 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It rivals the likes of the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, Suzuki Gixxer SF, and the Bajaj Pulsar RS200 in the Indian market.
