Honda's super sports model, the CBR600R has made its Malaysian debut. The bike was unveiled in August 2020. The race-ready version of the bike, built by HRC was made available in Japan in limited numbers. The design of the bike is inspired from its bigger sibling, the new CBR1000RR-R.
The super sport design of the CBR600RR incorporates dual LED headlights which lends it an aggressive front look. The side profile gets full fairing with embedded winglets. The bike is extremely aerodynamic and comes with a leaned riding position. It comes with three presets and two customisable riding modes. Riding information can be viewed on a full colour TFT display.
Powering the bike is a 599cc liquid-cooled inline four-cylinder engine which churns out 119.35bhp of power at 14000rpm and 63Nm of twist at 11500rpm. The ride of the bike is taken care of by 41mm fully adjustable USD Showa front suspension and Showa Pro-Link rear suspension. For effective braking it uses dual-channel ABS with 310mm double disc at the front and 220mm single disc on the rear.
It is also equipped with safety features like emergency stop signal, slipper clutch, Honda electronic steering damper, torque control, wheelie control and traction control system.
The bike is priced at RM 98,888 ex-showroom, which converts to Rs 17.82 lakh. It is only available with one colour option - Grand Prix Red. Upon its arrival in the Indian market it will compete against the Aprilia RS660, Yamaha YZF R6 and the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R. However, chances of the bike entering the Indian market are pretty slim.
