- New CBR600RR might debut in October
- Will get styling from Fireblade
- Will rival ZX-6R, YZF-R6
Just a few weeks ago, we told you that Honda is working on a brand new CBR600RR. Now, according to a report, this motorcycle is likely to make its world debut in October.
Honda is working quite secretly on this project and has made sure there are no leaks. This new motorcycle is likely to resemble the Fireblade in terms of styling. In terms of performance, there’s hardly any information on that but the engine will be Euro 5 compliant.
The Japanese maker used to sell the CBR600RR till 2016 when the Euro 4 compliance came into effect. Post that, other brands like Kawasaki and Yamaha made their presence felt in the 600cc class. Kawasaki launched the ZX-6R and Yamaha brought back the YZF-R6. So it was obvious that Honda will also bring in a new 600cc.
It’s still not clear if Honda plans to unveil the CBR600RR at the 2020 Intermot show or will do it on its own due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A few European brands like KTM have decided to skip both the big shows this year as there was huge uncertainty about the timings of these shows. Plus, sales across the world has been affected. So brands would want to conserve their cash.
