- New CRF300L, CRF300 Rally unveiled
- Gets bigger motor, better features
- India launch unlikely
Honda has finally revealed the new CRF300L and the CRF300 Rally. These 2021 models have received massive updates in mechanical as well as in the aesthetic departments.
The 250s have been Honda’s entry-level off-road bikes. But in the world of Euro-5 emission, these bikes had to be upgraded to 300cc for better performance and emission. So the 2021 models now get new engine, new chassis and is now equipped with more features.
The new 286cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor makes 27bhp at 8500rpm and peak torque of 26.6Nm at 6500rpm. This motor churns out more torque in the low and mid-range, thanks to the increase in stroke. The intake cam timing has been revised and it also gets new air filter and exhaust. The six-speed gearbox has been reworked for shorter first five gears and taller six for better highway performance.
The CRF rides on 43mm upside down front forks, and a Showa monoshock at the back. In terms of adjustability, there's only spring preload adjustability at the rear. Both the bikes suspension travel have now been increased to 260 mm both front and rear. The braking system has been carried forward from the 250s.
Unfortunately, these bikes come be sold in India anytime soon as the market for such bikes are small and Honda liked to play in the volumes game.
