- Honda CB200X launched in India
- Design inspired by the CB500X
- Priced Rs 13,000 more than the Hornet
Honda has launched its new small-size street and touring motorcycle, the CB200X, in India. It has been priced at Rs 1,44,500 (ex-showroom) which makes it around Rs 13,000 more expensive than the Hornet 2.0, the bike it is based on.
In terms of styling, the CB200X takes inspiration from its larger sibling, the CB500X. While the headlamp design is identical to the Hornet, the tall black windscreen and angular side panel joining the fuel tank look similar to the CB500X. The CB200X also gets knuckle guards that’s in line with its ADV theme.
The list of features is the same as its street bike version. There’s a full-LED lighting setup with the LED turn indicators integrated within the knuckle guards. All the information about the bike is displayed on a fully-digital instrument cluster. The ergonomics of the bike are different than the Hornet with a raised and easier-to-reach handlebar.
Powering the Honda CB200X is the same 184cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that does duty on the Hornet. This unit produces 17.03bhp at 8,500rpm and 16.1Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm. As for the cycle parts, the motorcycle rides on 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends that are sprung by golden upside down forks and a monoshock and the braking setup includes a single disc at both ends.
Considering its styling and purpose, the Honda CB200X doesn’t have a direct rival in India. The closest that comes to it is the Hero XPulse 200 which is more inclined towards off-road riding.
