-Honda teases new scooter
- Likely to be the new Activa 7G
- Could get more features
Honda has released a new teaser image showing the front fascia of a scooter along with the text ‘Coming Soon.’ The silhouette of the front cowl and the headlamp design are identical to the Activa 6G, which points towards this being the updated version of the scooter with the suffix ‘7G’.
The last major update the Activa received was in January 2020 during the BS6 transition. The scooter had not only received a cleaner engine, but the design, hardware, and features were also revised. Now, it’s been over two years that the scooter hasn’t received any major change, except for the introduction of the 20th Anniversary edition in November 2020 which was just a new paint scheme.
At present, there aren’t any details available about the updates the new Activa 7G will incorporate. But we can expect it to get more modern features. We might see the inclusion of an updated instrument cluster, perhaps with Bluetooth connectivity which is already present in its arch-rival, the TVS Jupiter. It could also get a USB charging port. As for hardware, the scooter is unlikely to get any update in this department. It runs on a tried and tested 109.51cc motor that produces 7.68bhp and 8.79Nm and is known for its sheer refinement.
The existing Honda Activa 6G is available in standard and deluxe variants that are priced at Rs 72,400 and Rs 74,400 (both prices are ex-showroom). The upcoming 7G trim will definitely bring along an increment over these prices.
