Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has updated its portfolio with the launch of the new SP160 in our market. This motorcycle is available in two variants, and the prices start from Rs. 1,17,500. Meanwhile, the premium version, which benefits from disc brakes on both wheels, is available at Rs. 1,21,900. Previously, we brought you the top highlights from the India launch of this motorcycle. Here, we list the alternatives that potential buyers can consider in a similar price range.
Bajaj Pulsar N160 (Rs. 1,22,854)
The Bajaj Pulsar N160 is available at a marginal premium over the new Honda SP160. For this price premium, the Bajaj Pulsar N160 benefits from a sportier design and higher output figures. The 164.82cc, single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled engine on the motorcycle delivers a maximum output of 15.7bhp and a peak torque of 14.65Nm. Meanwhile, the feature list on this product includes a projector-style headlight, an LED taillight, a semi-digital instrument cluster, and a USB charging port. Further, the more premium variant of this motorcycle benefits from a dual-channel ABS.
Yamaha FZ-S Fi (Rs. 1,21,400)
Yamaha Motor India competes in the 150-180cc segment with its FZ series, and the FZ-S Fi is available at a similar price level as the SP160. The S variant of the FZ series benefits from additional styling elements over the standard model. These include chrome garnishing near the fuel tank and bolder graphics. The mechanical specifications on this product include a 149cc, single-cylinder engine that makes 12.2bhp of maximum power at 7,250rpm and 13.3Nm of peak torque at 5,500rpm. Notably, these figures are lower than the Honda SP160.
Keeway SR125 (Rs. 1,20,000)
The Keeway SR125 is a retro-style alternative to the Honda SP160. This motorcycle uses a 125cc, single-cylinder engine with EFI. This motor is tuned to produce a maximum output of 9.5bhp and a peak torque of 8.2Nm. Notably, it is lightweight and tips the weighing scale at just 120kg. Then, the feature list includes LED lighting and a colour digital instrument cluster. The motorcycle is available through Benelli and Keeway dealerships in India.
TVS Apache RTR 160 2V (Rs. 1,19,320)
TVS Motor Company’s two-valve-equipped Apache RTR 160, too, retails in a similar price range as the new Honda SP160. This product is powered by a 159.7cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. Linked to a five-speed gearbox, the motor on the latest-generation model makes 15.8bhp at 8,750rpm and 13.85Nm of peak torque at 7,000rpm. Then, the more premium version benefits from additional features such as Bluetooth connectivity, dual-channel ABS, and multiple ride modes.
Bajaj Avenger Street 160 (Rs. 1,16,832)
The Bajaj Avenger Street 160 is a cruiser-style motorcycle that is available at a competitive price tag. In fact, it is marginally more affordable than the base Honda SP160. The 160.4cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected motor on the Avenger Street 160 produces 14.8bhp and 13.4Nmand comes mated to a five-speed gearbox. Notably, this motorcycle is available in a single variant, and it is sold with a front disc and rear drum brake setup.
