- Expected to share underpinnings with 2018 Goldwing.
- Likely to be launched in 2020.
- Unlikely to arrive in India.
Honda is working on a new Valkyrie that will be based on the 2018 Gold Wing that is on sale in India.
The bike is expected to draw inspiration from the uniquely designed Valkyrie Rune cruiser that went on sale in 2004. So, we can expect similar styling with extensive use of chrome, an inverted triangle-shaped headlamp and a laidback riding position. It is also likely to use the aluminium chassis and 1,833cc flat-six engine from the Gold Wing that produces 116bhp and 167Nm of torque. This motor is offered in a seven-speed DCT and six-speed manual version on the Gold Wing and Honda could offer the same for the new Valkyrie. It is also likely to sport the double wishbone front suspension from the 2018 Gold Wing.
While the bike is expected to be launched as a 2020 model, Honda is likely to unveil a concept version at the 2018 Tokyo Motor Show or the 2018 EICMA. It will rival against the bigger capacity Harley-Davidson and Indian motorcycles. However, it is highly improbable that the new Valkyrie will make its way to our shores anytime in the future.
