Benelli’s upcoming 600cc motorcycles were recently spotted at the manufacturer’s plant in China. The manufacturer is expected to officially reveal the motorcycles sometime this year. Moreover, the motorcycles are likely to be launched in India soon after their global unveil. While official specs and details are yet to be revealed, here is everything we know about the upcoming motorcycles from Benelli.
Two versions
As revealed by the spy images, Benelli has two versions of the 600 up its sleeve. The motorcycle will be available in a streetfighter avatar as well as a fully-faired, supersports version.
Completely new styling
The streetfighter which is labeled as the ‘SR600K’ or ‘SRK600’ is essentially the TNT 600i which is sold in India although with a completely new design. It sports a low-slung, full-LED headlamp, a muscular fuel tank, and a sleek rear section. Moreover, the distinctive twin under-seat exhausts have been traded for a short side canister.
And the Benelli 600RR, as the fully-faired version is being called, is based on the streetfighter. The motorcycle features a sharp front end that houses a split LED headlamp setup and a large intake in between. At the side, the fairing sports edgy lines and ducts to cool the engine. It also sports clip-on handlebars and rear-set footpegs for a sporty riding position. Nevertheless, the rest of the motorcycle is the same as its naked counterpart.
Updated features
Benelli has equipped the streetfighter as well as supersport with a full-colour TFT screen; a stark contrast to the current TNT 600i’s semi-digital instrument cluster. Furthermore, the motorcycles are also offered with illuminated switchgear, keyless ignition, and push-button start.
Revised engine
While the new Benelli 600 motorcycles are expected to be powered by the same 600cc, in-line four-cylinder engine, the motor will be tweaked to comply with BS6 emission norms. However, it is unknown whether Benelli has also changed the power figures on the new models to be different from the current TNT 600i’s 85.7bhp and 54.6Nm output.
Similar cycle parts
Benelli has changed the styling, revised the engine, and added new features to the new 600cc models. However, going by the spy shots, the manufacturer has retained the same suspension and braking hardware as the outgoing model.
