- Powered by a larger 334cc engine
- Based on a revised chassis
- Price increased by Rs. 12,000
Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles has launched the new Jawa 350 in India with a price tag of Rs. 2.15 lakh (ex-showroom). It is a heavily revised version of the Jawa Standard and demands a premium of close to Rs. 12,000.
The biggest change received by the motorcycle is the replacement of the smaller 294cc engine with a larger 334cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder mill which produces 22bhp and 28.2Nm of peak torque. This unit comes mated to a six-speed gearbox along with an assist and slipper clutch.
The dimensions of the bike have also changed. The ground clearance is significantly higher at 178mm and so is the seat height at 790mm. Even the wheelbase is longer at 1,449mm. For your reference, the ground clearance, seat height, and wheelbase of its predecessor were 165mm, 765mm, and 1,368mm, respectively. Moreover, the kerb weight of the bike has gone up from 182kg to 194kg. All of these changes are owing to the inclusion of a new dual-cradle chassis. To improve the stability, the company has also employed wider tyres – 100/90 section up front and 130/80 section at the rear wherein the 18-17-inch diameter remains unchanged.
The Jawa 350 is also slightly different in terms of design. While the overall stance and silhouette have remained almost the same, subtle changes make it look beefier now. The tyres are chunkier, both fenders are more pronounced, and the seat seems to have a thicker foam. Furthermore, the company has introduced a new Mystique Orange paint scheme while retaining the Maroon and Black trims.
The Jawa 350 continues to compete against the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Honda CB350, and the Benelli Imperiale 400.
