Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles is preparing to launch a new variant of the 42 roadster in India. The company has already begun its pre-launch marketing campaign and released new teasers that reveal many details about its design. Let’s dive deeper into what we can expect from the 2024 Jawa 42.
Design
The bike’s styling has a sporty edge to it, with what appears to be leaned-forward riding ergos. The teardrop fuel tank has a prominent ‘Jawa’ sticker across its length. While the side panels and fenders look identical to the standard 42, the bike seems to sport upswept twin exhausts and a re-profiled seat. Even the multi-spoke alloy wheel design is different and seems to feature a machined finish.
Features
While it’s too early to speculate about its features list, the new 42 roadster will likely get full LED lighting, semi-digital instrumentation, and dual-channel ABS. It is also expected to get an assist and slipper clutch for a lighter clutch operation.
Engine Specifications
Like the newer Jawa and Yezdi motorcycles, the new 42 could likely be powered by an updated 334cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. That said, it remains to be seen whether the company offers the Jawa 350’s or the Yezdi Adventure’s engine tune for the 2024 Jawa 42.
Cycle Parts
As we have said earlier, the new Jawa 42 derivative will ride on alloy wheels, wrapped on fatter rubber. Meanwhile, suspension duties are handled by conventional right-side up forks at the front and twin springs at the rear. As for its braking hardware, it will get its stopping power from disc brakes at either ends.
Expected Price and Launch Date
The new Jawa 42 will be launched in India on 3 September, 2024. It is expected to be priced between Rs 2.10 lakh to Rs. 2.20 lakh (ex-showroom).
