- Gets tubeless tyre compatible alloy wheels
- Available in three colour options
- Mechanical specifications remain unaltered
Classic Legends have introduced the Jawa 42 Version 2.1 in the Indian market at Rs 1,83,942 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The 2.0, as we have mentioned in our first ride report, was the BS6-compliant model that was launched last year. Now, the 2.1 version gets several upgrades that make the motorcycle modern than ever before.
The wire-spoke wheel setup, for example, has been replaced by tubeless tyre compatible alloy wheels. The latest iteration of the motorcycle also features a dark theme, and the new Jawa 42 Version 2.1 gets a black finish to the engine, exhaust canisters, front fork covers, and the rear springs. Further enhancing the styling is the offset racing stripe that runs along the fuel tank and into the rear fender. Other changes include a revision to the seat padding that is aimed to offer enhanced comfort. The flyscreen and headlamp grille will be available as optional extras.
The changes are limited to the styling and the addition of alloy wheels. The motorcycle retains other hardware such as the dual cradle frame, telescopic front forks, preload-adjustable twin rear springs, a 280mm disc at the front, a 240mm rotor at the rear, and dual-channel ABS. The alloy wheels are wrapped in 90/90-18 and 120/80-17 MRF tyres at the front and back, respectively. The motorcycle will be available in three colours – Orion Red, Sirius White, and All Star Black.
Mechanical specifications, too, remain unaltered and the Jawa 42 continue to use a 293cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, the motor produces 27bhp and 27Nm of peak torque.
